The average person will not buy a 1 Oz gold coin for $25
A slightly dated video has a person by the name of Mark Dice offering to sell a 1 Oz Canadian Gold Coin for $25 to random members of the general public. He is standing next to a coin shop, giving them access to an independent appraisal. A gold coin sold for $25 can be flipped instantly for much more than the $1500 that is mentioned in the video (2012) given the spot price of gold today.
What is shocking is how many think he’s scamming them, and they simply turn it down. I wonder if the public is better informed today? I suspect not.
In fairness, a sales pitch of that sort is usually met with skepticism, and the right thing to do would be assume it’s a con. However a more informed person would ask for proof on the spot, which was available. Perhaps the average person just doesn’t know about gold, silver, iron ore, etc.
Information disparities like this is why opportunities exist. Enjoy the video.
